Founder of ICHIGO Studio. Systems thinker, sensory practitioner, retail operator, and lifelong learner. Based in Singapore.
ICHIGO was not built from a single idea. It was built from a decade of working across very different fields — and slowly realising they were never as separate as they looked.
The thread connecting them is a belief that good work is intentional work. Whether it is a data pipeline, a workshop session, a preserved flower arrangement, or a business process — what makes it work is the same thing: clarity about what it is for, and care in how it is made.
JY founded ICHIGO Studio to bring that approach to clients who are building something real, and need a partner who has done real things across real contexts.
Trained in London, built in Singapore. Educated in engineering and law. Practised in data, operations, learning design, and sensory craft. Currently: AI systems, aromatherapy, florals, and an upcoming physical space at Anchorpoint, Singapore.
Over four years as a Senior Data Analyst on a large-scale online mapping platform — working across Chinese, English, and European regional datasets. Not the structured kind of data you can sort in a spreadsheet: spatial, contextual, requiring human judgement at scale. This is where the ICHIGO Method began — the belief that a system is only as good as the thinking behind it.
Management Trainee at a large multi-outlet supermarket chain — leading sales teams, managing compliance across dry and fresh sections, running logistics, and redesigning staff training materials. Supplemented by front-line service experience in a busy café environment. Opening ICHIGO's physical space at Anchorpoint is not a first step into retail. It is a return to something already known.
Three years in the digital learning division of a local higher education institution — managing departmental budget and procurement, overseeing learning management systems, and reporting directly to faculty leadership. The work was operational, but the context was human: how people learn, how institutions train, and what actually makes knowledge transfer work. ICHIGO's workshops are designed with this in mind.
WSET Level 3 with Merit, US Wine Scholar Guild French Wine Scholar with Honours, ABRSM Pianoforte Grade 8, and currently a NAHA / IFA aromatherapy student with written examinations completed. These are not hobbies — they are years of disciplined sensory training. The aesthetic of ICHIGO, and the care behind each piece in the Conservatory, comes from here.
A selected record of formal qualifications, certifications, and ongoing training. The full picture is not any one certificate — it is the range.
Whether you are looking for a business systems partner, a workshop facilitator, or simply want to know more about ICHIGO — the conversation starts the same way.
